“Smarties are an excellent yet overlooked tool for testing out colour combinations. Also, because they are slightly rounded top and bottom, the shadow they cast is a thing of great beauty. I discovered that the key to making them read as Smarties was finding the correct level of sheen; too glossy or too matt and they are strangely unrecognisable.”

The Smarties, painted directly onto the Farrow and Ball paint swatch for Wimborne White, is an original miniature painting by Rachel Spelling. The painting is 2cm x 3cm and it is served on a strip of twelve beautiful colours from the iconic Farrow & Ball colour card, which measures 7.4cm x 21cm. It is sold unframed.

This miniature is signed and dated on the back and it will be accompanied by a signed and embossed certificate of authenticity.
