“This is the third in my The End series. The first was from The Wizard of Oz and the second was from A Star is Born (1954). I haven’t been able to find out which film this end sequence belongs to but the elaborate flourish of the font over the glittering cityscape suggests it considers itself to have been a very good film! Increasingly I see the paint chips as tiny cinema screens, and with The End series I really enjoy the way a single, tiny image and two words can suggest a whole two hours of drama.”

The End (film unknown), painted directly onto the Farrow and Ball paint swatch for Paean Black, is an original miniature painting by Rachel Spelling. The painting is 2cm x 3cm and it’s served on a strip of twelve beautiful colours from the iconic Farrow & Ball colour card, which measures 7.4cm x 21cm. It is sold unframed.

The painting is signed and dated on the reverse and it will be accompanied by a signed and embossed certificate of authenticity.
