“This is the second in my The End series. The first was the end sequence from The Wizard of Oz. For a while now I’ve been thinking about the paint chips as very small cinema screens. When I paint The End I’m interested in the way the whole story of that film is present in the painting, without me actually painting it. In this case it’s music, stardom and heartbreaking tragedy, all in 2cm x 3cm!”

The End (A Star is Born, 1954), painted directly onto the Farrow and Ball paint swatch for Paean Black, is an original miniature painting by Rachel Spelling. The painting is 2cm x 3cm and it is served on a strip of 12 beautiful colours from the iconic Farrow & Ball colour card, which measures 7.4cm x 21cm. It is sold unframed.

This miniature is signed and dated on the back and it will be accompanied by a signed and embossed certificate of authenticity.
