Introducing The Reds! 24 miniatures painted by me onto the red section of the iconic Farrow and Ball colour card in Summer 2021. Printed onto beautiful museum-grade paper and signed, dated and embossed. Wrapped with love and care from my studio in South East London, and ready to be posted anywhere in the world.

This is the brightest section of the Farrow and Ball colour card, with all the really rich, strong, fun colours and it was heaven on earth to paint. When I set out to paint the colour card in four seasons back in January 2021, I remember looking ahead to the Summer and hoping Covid would be behind us, and that it would be a time of happy reunions and sunshine. Things didn’t quite turn out like that… So this piece is not a joyous, carefree colour party. It’s quiet and still, with lots of watching, waiting and wondering. There are flashes of happiness and celebration, and there’s glamour and mystery, and some strangeness too of course, but overall I think there are more questions than answers with this one. It always surprises me when I’ve finished a section and look at what’s there. The paintings pick up more of the mood of the time than I realise while I’m actually painting them.

This print is part of a family of four. In 2021 I worked backwards through the Farrow and Ball colour card. During the long, dark January of 2021 I started painting the blues. I finished them in March and they’re available as a sumptuous print here. As the green shoots of Spring started to appear, I painted the greens. By May I’d finished them, and you can find them here. The joyous Reds are right here, and as Autumn rolled in I painted the quiet neutrals, which you can find here. There’s now a set of four glorious new prints, spanning right across the colours and the seasons and indirectly documenting the strange year we shared.

All of the Four Season prints are the same size (A4) and all printed onto the same sumptuous paper, so they'd be fabulous together, but stand alone just as well. And they’re a standard size this time, so framing is a breeze. Above you can see The Reds and The Greens, side by side in happy dialogue, in a 30cm x 40cm frame from everybody’s favourite Swedish store. And below The Reds are shown off in a natural wood A4 frame which I painted with a watered down coat of Nancy’s Blushes, just for fun.

Your print will be signed, dated, embossed with a seal, and wrapped in tissue with a gold seal, so it’s very gift-ready if you’re buying it for a friend. It will be posted in a sturdy A4 envelope and wrapped in heavyweight board for extra protection. I process, wrap and post all orders myself from my studio in South East London - I’m definitely not an app - so please feel free to get in touch anytime and I’ll do my best to answer any questions you might have.
